Welcome to the "Reading by the Moonlight" blog! I do a lot of reading and I've done some reviewing on Goodreads. But I've been waivering between starting my own review blog. What could I offer? And then it hit me: My opinion. That's what I can offer. You may agree with me, you may not. You may share my opinion and thought you were the only one! So come in, have a read and don't be shy to leave your opinion. Why "Moonlight"? Because I am an insomniac and no, I do not read to help me fall asleep. That only makes it worse because "just one more chapter" turns into "three hours later." But it doesn't mean I don't read late at night--by the "moonlight" as it were. And it's most likely when I'll write my reviews as well. How will this work? To be honest, I don't know. This is still a baby blog compared to my others. So it might have some growing pains and I hope you will excuse them. I cannot guarantee a post every week, but I promise that when I do post, it will be on a Friday. Why Friday? Because it's a good day. And because I plan to leave you with something to muse about over the weekend. You are always welcomed to chime in with your thoughts. What is my rating system? Everything is based out of a five owl rating system. One moon=I didn't care for the novel and I wouldn't recommend it Two moons=I'm ambivalent about the novel and I might recommed it Three moons=I liked the book and I would recommend it Four moons=I loved the book and I definitely recommend it Five moons=I would marry this book if I could and why haven't you read it yet? What is my spoiler policy? I can go either way personally when it comes to spoilers on TV. But when it comes to books, I am the type to never spoil an ending. So I will do my best to shape my reviews so they don't contain any. I do apologize if what I consider a "non-spoiler" might be a spoiler to you. But rest assured, I won't be revealing any big plot developments. That's a promise. So, does this mean I won't be writing reviews on Goodreads? No, I'll still be writing there. And they will be different from the reviews I post here. One, I have a different rating system so you will notice a different star/owl rating. And two, they have a spoiler tag so I can go into more detail about certain plot points. If you want, check them out! Let's kick things off right with our first Weekend Moonlight Musing: How do you choose the next book you are going to read?
