Why I read it: I read “Anonymous” and won the second book in an online giveaway

Summary: After getting engaged at the end of “Anonymous,” Lara Miller and Logan Matthews merge their families together as they plan for their wedding. They start their life together in their own special way as Lara receives even more good news. However, when a friend ends up needing help, tensions arise in the Matthews marriage. Can they overcome them and get their happily ever after?

Review: I did not get a chance to read “Anonymous” in its original fanfiction form but I did get to read “Everything” when it was fanfiction. However, I enjoyed both equally, though this time I remembered what was coming when I read “Everything.” It didn’t take away from my enjoyment of it, though.

This is not a novel that would get traditionally published. If submitted, it would probably be sent back with notes to add more conflict and tension. This is where fanfiction (and self-publishing) becomes popular—it’s mostly just domestic settings. And it’s fun to read about characters who are going about their day and watching the little struggles that come from day-to-day. Not everything has to be action, drama, moral dilemmas all the time. Sometimes, we want to see the characters being just like us and this story gives us that.

Lara and Logan’s love story continues and we see how strong they really are. They aren’t tested in the usual ways—no possible interloper appearing to tempt one of them, no disapproving family member trying to break them apart, etc—but they do face a few tests. Logan travels back and forth between New York and San Francisco due to his work and Lara gets a bit fixated when friend Erin gets sick, to the point she starts neglecting her family. They fight but they always make up, coming through it stronger.

Olivia and Liam aren’t major players this go around but that’s okay—the main focus on this story is on their parents. Olivia has a bigger part than her brother being older and therefore more aware of what’s going on when Lara starts to put Erin above her family, which leads to some good confrontation scenes. I know that last time, I thought that Olivia read as younger than ten years old but she seems more age appropriate here, so that’s a good improvement.  And Liam is just cute.

Bottom line: A good piece of domestic fluff with some confict in there.

Sex: Yes and plenty of it!
