That’s Amore: Some of My Favorite Romances

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Since it worked out that Valentine’s Day falls on my usual posting day this year, I thought it would be fun to go over some of my favorite romance that I’ve read and reviewed on this blog.

Let’s do a Top 10 List!

Check it out below the cut.

10. Famous for a Living by Melissa Ferguson

A good opposites attract relationship that first built a strong foundation before acting on the chemistry between the two leads. Would’ve liked a few more chapters showing their romantic relationship but overall, a good romance.

9. The Rose Garden by Susanna Kearsley

I think fans of Outlander would like this book. It involves time travel and historical aspects. It’s not as intense as Outlander can get, so if you want something similar without all the sex and violence, this might be the book for you. Also good if you love a slow-burn romance as well.

8. Ayesha at Last by Uzma Jalaluddin

A modern take on Pride and Prejudice set in Toronto’s Muslim community. So if you love Pride and Prejudice as much as I do, this is the story for you.

7. In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren

Groundhog’s Day meets Christmas. Two childhood friends realize their relationship has transformed into something else as our heroine takes control of her life again.

6. The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna

The Sunshine One meets The Grumpy One and it’s magical – in more ways than one. Come for a witchy story, stay for the endearing romance (and found family).

5. Fake It Till You Bake It by Jamie Wesley

Another good opposites attract that spends time not only developing their relationship but showing them as a couple. It can also get a little steamy from time to time, which is a good bonus.

4. Not the Witch You Wed by April Asher

While I felt the sequels were just copies of this book, this one does still have a special place in my heart. I enjoyed the magical world and the fake dating trope (along with reunited first loves). So if you love those things, give this book a read.

3. What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon

Another option for those who like Outlander and want their leading man to be Irish instead of Scottish. Our leading lady doesn’t go back as far as Claire but there’s still plenty of intrigue and a very interesting twist in the story. But most of all, the romance is really compelling and is the heart of the story.

2. Baker’s Dozen by Allison Fuller

A good second-chance romance between a patron and the owner of a bakery. Can get a little spicy but it’s definitely part of the appeal. I’ve written about this before so I’m just going to leave it at that.

1. The Glass Ocean by Beatriz Williams, Lauren Willig, and Karen White

This romance lingers with me. There were a few featured in the book but one was especially my favorite, involving intrigue and a good amount of chemistry. And it’s also a historical romance, which I especially love.

So those are my Top 10 Favorite Romances! I hope you check them out and maybe find a new favorite of your own.
