Rating:

Review: I really enjoyed this book. It was lighthearted and a rather quick read, perfect for February (and beyond).

Eddie is a sweet protagonist who just loves helping people and has a heart of gold. He feels like everyone’s grandfather, so it’s not hard to see why he attracts so many people into his life. You can’t help but root for him on his quest to find his first kiss (and possibly love).

Bella is also an interesting character as well. We really went on a journey with her more than Eddie as she grieved the loss of her boyfriend, Jake. But through her relationship with Eddie, she slowly started to heal and let herself live again. She was a great foil for Eddie and their friendship really carries the book.

We also get glimpses of the past as we learn that Eddie did have a great love, a woman name Bridie (or Birdie as he called her), who unfortunately was not available to him. Birdie is also a great character and we get just as invested in her story as we are with Eddie’s as well as hoping that maybe they could be reunited.

I’ll let you find out if they did on your own.

There’s also a quirky cast of supporting characters, including a guinea pig, that I think readers will enjoy as well. I know I did.

Bottom line: A cute and fun read that will still pull on your heart strings.

Sex: None.
